To determine the proper size for your dog, measure your dog's neck with a tape-measure following the instructions below.

1. Neck girth is taken by measuring the circumference of the neck (where the collar sits). Measure closely around the neck and please be as accurate as possible.

Hyde and Hound collars feature the classic look of leather and the individuality of fabric. The leather is dyed, hand stitched, burnished, and edged to ensure 100% sturdiness. The fabric portion features high-quality fabric, as well as heavy duty nylon, sewn on the inside. Each collar is finished with your choice of quality, metal hardware.

Due to the nature of materials, patterns and lighting, the collars may not look 100% like the photo. The leather will soften with time and usage. Please be aware that the "veg tan" leather will darken over time. This is called patina, and it is a natural process that occurs in unstained leather.

This product is not designed to be used as a tether. Hyde & Hound is not liable for any damages that may occur if this product is abused.

Hyde & Hound is based in the USA and has been creating dog collars since 2017. Items from Hyde & Hound have been purchased from people primarily in the US, but also internationally. Upon rare occasion Hyde & Hound uses to fulfill orders, but 99% of orders are fulfilled and shipped via the Etsy system.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through or its related sites and services.

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a warranty on your collars? What about returns and exchanges?

Dogs are dogs. Sometimes things get ruined when they play. IF for some reason, something happens to the collar, outside of the dog chewing on the collar, we will be happy to fix it for you, or provide a discount code towards the purchase of a new collar. All you have to do is to message us, let us know what happened, and send the collar back.

As far as returns are concerned, we do not accept returns due to each collar being made to order as per the request of the buyer. Each order is custom made.

The only way we will do an exchange is if the package arrived damaged. The buyer is responsible for shipping the original collar as well as the new collar. If a product is out of stock, you may choose a product of lesser or equal value.

What is your hardware recycling program?

Our hardware recycling program is perfect for the dog that likes to stay current on today's fashion. Send us your Hyde & Hound collar back, and we will use that hardware to make a new collar. When your collar has been received, we will send you a discount code to take a percentage off of your new collar. Feel free to message us for more info or if you have any questions.

Are the leather goods waterproof?

I design the collars to be able to be durable. With that being said, leather is a natural material, and it has it's limitations. When conditioning leather, I recommend using mink oil paste.


The brine in saltwater and the chlorine in pool water can draw oils out from the leather, and dry it out. Regular conditioning will restore lost oils and help protect leather from drying out.

I don’t recommend exposing leather goods to freshwater sources like lakes and ponds due to high bacteria content. Leather is a porous material and exposure to this type of water can lead to build-up of bacteria and odor deep within the leather. In order to avoid having a stinky collar, use a waterproof collar.

How do I clean my dog's collar?

Your collars will eventually get dirty, because dogs are dogs. Due to the nature of our items, we recommend your items be hand washed.

For the fabric, rinse it, then use a little bit of dish soap and scrub. Just rinse, and and then lay flat to dry.

If the leather gets dirty, take a rag and rinse it. Make sure to squeeze out the extra water, so it is damp. Rub the cloth in a circular motion, then wipe dry with another cloth. We recommend you using a mink oil paste to condition the leather after washing, and periodically, to help the leather remain flexible and conditioned. Please note, that the leather will age over time. No need to worry. It's normal.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

As far as returns are concerned, we do not accept returns due to each collar being made to order as per the request of the buyer. Each order is custom made.

The only way we will do an exchange is if the package arrived damaged. The buyer is responsible for shipping the original collar as well as the new collar. If a product is out of stock, you may choose a product of equal or lesser value.

Sizing details

Collar sizes are as follows: 9-11", 11-13" 13-16", 16-20", and 20-25".

The widths of collars are: 3/4" which is recommended for necks 9-11"; 1" which is recommended for necks 11-20" and 1.5" which is recommended for dogs whose necks are 15-25".

The width on some dogs is a matter of preference. If your dog is a puller, I recommend a wider width. If your dog is small and petite, 3/4" would be fine. Again, it is best to order a collar that will be well suited for your dog.

What happens if my order is lost or stolen?

After the order leaves Hyde & Hound, we are not responsible for what happens to it when it's in transit to it's final destination. We cannot control the USPS, or other shipping businesses and how they control their system. If the package is missing, stolen, etc., however, we are happy to offer a discount if you would like to reorder. Please send us an email to if this is something you are dealing with.
